ok ok ive been going off the deep end with billy idol (maybe because he looks like david lost boys... shhh) and i really love his style of music. so far my fav songs are 'Hot in the City' and 'Sweet sixteen'.

7/27/2026 - summer work and THE LOST BOYS MUSICAL!
ok ok i'm typing this at the library while taking a break from 10 PAGES OF NOTES... seriously who invented cornell notes? the devil?? I also picked up some SICK new cds from the library- metallica and elton john greatest hits, motorhead: the manticore tapes, and the yellow submarine songtrack.
but now into the meat and potatoes of today's entry... THE LOST BOYS FULL OBC RECORDING JUST CAME OUT!!!!! those who are day one fans of me know that i just LOVE the Lost Boys, and also musicals, so this was like the second coming of christ to me (after the lost boys/monster high collab that was... questionable at the very least.)
(seriously, what's going on with that cone?? do they know there are girls in the lost boys???)
OK THIS REVIEW IS BASED SOLEY OFF OF THE SOUNDTRACK AND CLIPS IVE SEEN ON INSTAGRAM!!! Ali Louis Bourzgui you deserve to be the third immortal human after paul mccartney and dolly parton, and OMG THE LOST BOYS ARE A BAND!!! i really like their actors in the musical like the casting was beautiful for everyone. Sam is perfect and Benjamin Pajak is only 14????? what was i doinggggggg ugh that should have been me. I really like Ali's take on David as well as the idea of him being a rockstar... like yes he would do that! he looks like Billy Idol and sings like him too! I like paul being the drummer bc in the movie he's probably the most reckless other than marko, and speaking of marko he's now brunette and dwayne is blonde and they lowkey swapped personalities?? just do like a little switcheroo and switch the names... actually now that i'm thinking about it this could be a cool crossover art idea to have them meet each other's movie/musical counterpart! i will get right on that o7. AND STAR? omg i'm soooo happy her role is more than just glorified damsel in distress like it is in the movie! Plus the actress, Maria Wirries, is gorgeous. I totally understand Michael tripping over himself between David and Star. Again, PHENOMENAL CASTING.
and OUGHHHH, SECRET COMES OUT (specifically) AND BELONG TO SOMEONE?? AND MURDER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD AND I HAVE TO HAVE YOU???? ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS GOING THAT HARD!!! Hmu with my headphones on singing along off-key to the velvety pipes of LJ Benet.
Now for the iffy bits: I kindddd of wish they gave the boys more screentime in the musical because that is one of my biggest gripes about the movie, but at least their costumes are sick. Also, i like that michael and star are a little less nothingburger, and this might be a bit out there, but I personally think a little bit of internalized homophobia/misogyny as a overt theme for michael to get over would have been the cherry on top of the michael-should-suffer sundae! I just need to put him through the wringer and beat him up emotionally! Star showing him he doesn't have to be so preformative all the time and that it's ok to be hurt and love people! and david as a subtextual metaphor for the seduction of danger and the unknown (and vampire in the 80s so also probably aids,) but it needs to be textual. please i could die happy if someone (Lucy Emerson) called michael out about being drawn to things that will hurt him (physically and mentally) because thats all he knows.

7/20/2026 - getting into pro wrestling??? also school starts soon :,(
so i'm starting to get interested in AEW (All Elite Wrestling) SPECIFICALLY due to tacodemuerte (insta)/bananaboi (yt). I just love their artstyle and they are a MAJOR inspiration to me, so I finally sat down to watch their 3+ hour video on JUNGLE BOY!!! (aka Jack Perry, aka Scapegoat, etc.) And idk what it is but that man has a CHOKEHOLD on me rn for some reason like theres something about him that is just so obsessable? like he was a gimmick wrestler whos lwk tiny compared to a lot of the main wrestlers and his whole thing was he came from the jungle and had limited knowledge of society (hence the name 'Jungle Boy.') AND HE HAS A DINOSAUR!!!! The dinosaur's name is Luchasaurus and he is a herbivore with a masters degree.

so Jungle Boy was part of the AEW tag-team Jurassic Express with himself, Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt. I've been doing some research and watching matches and omg it's so good! This is one of those things where it's not really intended for the audience it has, which is a lot of teenage girls on tumblr for some reason :P also i made this blinkie of him! feel free to steal :3
he's also so fun to draw?? maybe i just like drawing that SPECIFIC level of curly hair because i draw Ray Toro a lot too and they have similar hairstyles. also he's like a girl to me! he is made for the ME gaze! the worms have infested my brain and i am going jungle crazy! it's like Beatlemania (which i also have) but wrestling... Wrestlemania, perhaps... nevertheless I persist!
